The secondary throttle actuator/servomotor (STVA) frequently fails and is usually not available as a replacement part, but only with the complete throttle body, which is very expensive. Therefore, it is common to remove the secondary throttles to avoid this unnecessary cost.

On some motorcycles, Removing the secondary butterflies can also increase performance.

The STVE emulator connects to the ECU's STVA and STPS pins to provide the correct signals and thus prevent the engine failure from occurring.
